Worth knowing before you paste: these are Unicode characters, not fonts. Screen readers read them out as gibberish or skip them, they can't be searched, and a few older phones show empty boxes instead of letters. Great for a bio or a username; not for anything that has to be read by everyone.
Most apps only let you bold text inside a message. WhatsApp reads asterisks in a chat, Discord reads double asterisks, and Instagram captions have no bold option at all. None of that helps in the places people actually want bold letters: an Instagram bio, a WhatsApp status or About line, a TikTok display name, a Free Fire nickname, a YouTube channel description.
This generator sidesteps the problem. Instead of asking an app to render your text in a heavier weight, it swaps each letter for a different Unicode character that is already drawn bold โ ๐ฎ instead of a, ๐ instead of B. Those characters are part of the text, so they survive a copy-paste anywhere text can go, including fields with no formatting toolbar whatsoever.
Sans-serif bold is the safest pick and the closest match to the interface font on most phones, so it reads as emphasis rather than decoration. Bold serif has more weight and looks better in longer lines. Bold italic leans, which helps a name stand out in a list of otherwise upright ones. Bold cursive and bold gothic are decorative โ good for a gaming tag, distracting in a sentence.
The filled bubble and filled square styles are a special case: they were designed as enclosed symbols, and several phones render them as coloured emoji tiles rather than plain letters. Check how they look on your own device before you use them somewhere permanent, and remember that a full sentence in tile letters is genuinely hard to read.
