Type a real paragraph instead of a word list. This mode draws whole sentences from a large pool, so every attempt is a different passage with proper capitals, punctuation, and rhythm — the closest thing to typing the work you actually do.
Word-list tests measure your letter speed; paragraph tests measure your real writing speed, because every sentence carries capitals, commas, and full stops that break your rhythm. Most people score noticeably lower on sentences at first — that's normal, and it's the number that matters for actual work.
The paragraph pool is seeded with everyday prose rather than pangrams, and the daily challenge draws from the same pool with the date as the seed, so everyone who takes the challenge on a given day types the same paragraph.
Treat a paragraph run like a real piece of writing: don't pause to correct as you go, keep your eyes on the text, and let the rhythm of the sentence carry you. The test disables paste and autocorrect, and on a phone it reminds you to turn off predictive text, which quietly inflates scores by finishing words for you.
